Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Scientist to join our Mycoplasma team in Glasgow. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine and custom GMP studies, as well as maintaining good housekeeping, equipment, and stock control to ensure smooth lab operations.
The microbiology team conducts a wide range of assays for the detection of Mycoplasma, supporting the development and manufacturing processes in the pharmaceutical industry. You will make scientific observations and complete documentation in line with industry standards.
You will work within the laboratory following Standard Operating Procedures and compliance regulations to ensure that all studies are completed accurately, on time, and per GMP regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and custom GMP mycoplasma studies.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and manage stock.
- Follow SOPs and ensure compliance with GMP standards.
- Record scientific observations and complete documentation as per industry norms.
- Support pharmaceutical development and manufacturing processes through high-quality testing.
Qualifications:
- HND or higher qualification in Microbiology or a related Biological Sciences discipline.
- 0โ2 years of experience in a scientific laboratory role.
- Knowledge and/or experience working in GLP or GMP environments is preferred.
- Strong quality and safety focus.
- Excellent planning, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and drive.
- Good standard of written and spoken English.
- Computer literacy and experience with LIMS are desirable.
