About the Job

The Analyst I will support Quality Control Microbiological testing of drug substances, raw materials, and process intermediates. This role ensures compliance with cGMP and GLP guidelines, manages excursions, and assists with investigations for clinical and commercial programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gown for Grade B/A manufacturing areas; collect EM samples (viable air, non-viable particulates, surface samples).
  • Perform QC microbiology tests: bioburden, endotoxin, growth promotion, microbial ID.
  • Receive, process, and ship samples for external testing; review data for lot disposition.
  • Read/review EM plates, testing data, logbooks, and documents for product release and trending.
  • Follow aseptic techniques, GLP/GMP practices, and proper documentation.
  • Author/update procedures, protocols, and EM trend reports.
  • Support cleanroom, gowning, aseptic process qualification, and personnel monitoring.
  • Initiate incident reports for OOS results; assist with root-cause analysis and CAPA.
  • Perform lab setup, housekeeping, instrument maintenance, and calibration coordination.

Education & Qualifications for Microbiology Jobs

Required:

  • B.S. in Biology or related life science (0–3 years QC experience).
  • OR Associate degree with 2–5 years direct industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and microbiological testing.
  • Understanding of compliance guidelines and ALCOA+ documentation.
  • Ability to gown into cleanrooms and work weekends.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in fast-paced QC environments with strong time-management skills.
  • Flexibility to support cross-training in analytical assays.
