Job Description
As a Laboratory Associate I at MUSC, you will support clinical laboratory testing by preparing specimens, performing standardized lab tests, assisting with equipment troubleshooting, and contributing to daily quality and compliance standards. Your contributions will ensure accurate, timely results essential for clinical decision-making across a wide range of departments.
Laboratory Associate Job at MUSC – Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, label, and process specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Perform routine and specialized clinical laboratory tests.
- Execute and document quality control procedures and equipment maintenance.
- Troubleshoot laboratory instrument issues and escalate when necessary.
- Identify and respond to normal and abnormal test results.
- Communicate technical data to medical and non-medical personnel effectively.
- Support the training of new laboratory staff on standard testing procedures.
- Comply with all laboratory safety protocols and MUSC Standards of Behavior.
- Participate in continuing education and skills development programs.
Laboratory Associate Job at MUSC – Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science with:
- Minimum of 24 semester hours in science, including:
- 6 hours in Chemistry
- 6 hours in Biology
- 12 hours in any combination of Biology/Chemistry/Physical Sciences
