Job Description

As a Medical Technologist – Generalist at Unity Hospital, this Degree in Biology Job allows you to be a vital member of the laboratory services team, responsible for delivering accurate test results that directly impact patient diagnosis and treatment. You will handle specimen analysis, maintain quality control standards, and troubleshoot laboratory issues to ensure precision and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate specimen analysis and report results.
  • Identify and correct deviations using scientific methods.
  • Maintain QC logs, preventative maintenance records, and pending lists on a daily basis.
  • Train and support new laboratory personnel.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and achieve cost savings.
  • Monitor reagent inventory and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelorโ€™s degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or a related science field

Experience and Skills

  • New York State Department of Education License/Permit as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
  • Prior experience in a clinical or pathology lab.
  • Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
  • Strong communication, evaluation, and documentation skills.
