Microbiology Manager Role – Job Description
HCA Healthcare is seeking a Microbiology Manager to oversee day-to-day operations in its Nashville market laboratory. This role offers the chance to work in a modern, spacious lab equipped with the latest technologies, supporting hospitals and patient care nationwide. This is a full-time position with day shifts (no weekends) and includes a $15,000 sign-on bonus.
Microbiology Manager Role – Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily laboratory operations and staff resources to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Oversee hiring, training, orientation, and competency programs for laboratory staff.
- Provide coaching, performance reviews, and continuous feedback to enhance staff performance.
- Ensure compliance with CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, FDA, and CMS standards.
- Manage quality assurance programs related to testing protocols, equipment, and supplies.
- Collaborate with medical directors to review and develop departmental policies.
- Lead accreditation preparation and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Implement effective communication strategies to keep staff informed
Microbiology Manager Role – Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry required.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience and Skills
- National Certification as a Medical Technologist is required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Microbiology Technologist.
- High-volume hospital or central lab experience preferred.
