PhD/PharmD/MD Job at Gilead – Role Overview

As an integral member of the Global Medical Affairs – Publications Team, you will:

  • Develop and implement annual strategic publication plans aligned with the therapeutic area (primarily hematological malignancies: leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma).
  • Partner with Medical Affairs, R&D, Biometrics, Translational Medicine, HEOR, and external collaborators to execute a broad range of publication tactics.
  • Led peer-reviewed manuscript development, scientific congress abstracts, and poster presentations.
  • Manage external vendors, internal stakeholders, and publication budgets while ensuring adherence to GPP3, ICMJE, and industry best practices.

PhD/PharmD/MD Job at Gilead – Key Responsibilities

  • Led cross-functional Global Publication Planning Team (GPPT) in collaboration with clinical experts and alliance partners.
  • Independently manage and prioritize tactical execution of manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations.
  • Ensure that publications align with the organization’s scientific, clinical, and strategic messaging.
  • Collaborate with authors and HCPs on content development while adhering to all scientific and ethical standards.
  • Travel to international medical congresses and scientific meetings (~15%).
  • Oversee publication vendors to ensure timely delivery, quality, and compliance.

PhD/PharmD/MD Job at Gilead – Qualifications & Experience

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Advanced degree (Pharm D, MD, PhD) and significant experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry or medical communications agency experience with focus on scientific/medical publications
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Prior experience in biotech or pharma publications (preferably in cell therapy or hematology/oncology).
      • Understanding of regulatory and legal frameworks governing medical publications.
      • Exceptional skills in medical writing, data interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration.
      • Familiarity with GPP3, ICMJE, ICSRs, and journal publication processes.
      • Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
