The Position
Genentech is dedicated to advancing science so we all have more time with the people we love. The Dey Lab in the Department of Discovery Oncology is seeking a highly motivated and independent Postdoctoral Fellow to investigate fundamental mechanisms of tumor biology, with emphasis on cancer signaling pathways, tumor suppressor networks, and therapeutic vulnerabilities.
The lab leverages state-of-the-art in vitro and in vivo models, along with cutting-edge technologies, within a collaborative scientific community of cancer biologists, immunologists, and computational scientists.
The Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cancer Biology

Develop and apply advanced in vitro and in vivo systems to study tumor suppressor function and cancer signaling pathways.

Use cutting-edge tools including next-generation sequencing, single-cell technologies, genome engineering, and spatial biology to uncover mechanisms of tumor initiation and progression.

Collaborate across disciplines to translate basic discoveries into therapeutic strategies.

Access Genentechโs extensive core facilities, including animal modeling, proteomics, HTS, and computational biology.

Who You Are

Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, or related discipline.

Strong research record with at least one first-author publication (published or accepted) in a leading peer-reviewed journal.

Preferred Qualifications For Postdoctoral Fellowship

Experience with in vivo cancer models (xenograft, syngeneic, GEMMs) and/or advanced in vitro systems (organoids, 3D culture).

Knowledge of cancer signaling pathways and tumor suppressor biology.

Hands-on experience with CRISPR/Cas9, single-cell or spatial transcriptomics, or high-content imaging.

Working knowledge of bioinformatics or computational analysis.
Compensation & Benefits

Expected salary range: $98,000 โ $104,500 (South San Francisco)
