Job Purpose
The QA Supervisor supports the Senior Quality Manager and leads a team to ensure product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance at the food/dietary supplement facility. The role oversees QMS implementation, drives continuous improvement, leads Food Safety and Food Defense teams, supports audits, and reports quality performance to site leadership.
Job Responsibilities

Lead the site’s Food Safety and Food Defense teams.

Implement all updates to Food Safety and Food Defense plans.

Support issue identification, evaluation, and troubleshooting related to product quality and food safety, including routine site inspections.

Manage Finished Product and Zone 1 testing, environmental monitoring, reporting, and CAPA activities.

Support the Quality Manager in implementing company quality policies and procedures.
-
Prepare data and collaborate with the site manager to determine ingredient and product dispositions.

Prepare monthly reports on laboratory activities and site quality performance.
-
Deliver and maintain annual and routine training for employees on GMPs, Allergen Control, SPC, and other quality topics.

Monitor production operations, review control data, document out-of-spec incidents, and address staff questions regarding quality issues.

Manage corrective actions from internal and external audits.

Comply with all company safety policies and requirements.

Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality function under direction from the UMS department.

Support efforts to reduce consumer complaints and improve product performance.

Support Quality plant teams including HACCP, Consumer Complaints, Sanitation, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Support validation and verification activities for sanitation and allergen control across all production lines.

Contribute to Quality loss tree analysis and drive follow-up actions for improvement.

Collaborate with other Quality supervisors to align Quality practices across Unilever sites.

Ensure continuity and compliance of Quality programs during changes (e.g., innovations, capital improvements).

Serve as liaison with third-party labs and procurement while leading non-conforming product processes using the 8 Stages of Incoming Material methodology.
Required Qualifications for Quality Assurance Jobs

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Biology, Food Science, or a related discipline.

Minimum of two years of experience in food, dietary supplements, or a comparable regulatory-focused environment.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Excellent math, written, and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Excel, Word, and SAP.

Flexible and motivated, with the ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments.

Demonstrated ability to lead in a high-speed manufacturing setting.

Basic knowledge of sanitation principles, microbiology, ice cream composition, and quality assurance practices.
