Educational Requirements for the Scientist Job:
- Bachelorโs degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related field with 4+ years of experience
- OR Masterโs degree with 2+ years of experience
- OR Ph.D. with relevant academic experience (Recent Ph.D. graduates encouraged to apply)
Key Responsibilities of the Scientist Job:
- Lead and support upstream process development for cell and gene therapy (AAV/LVV) projects.
- Design and execute experiments to optimize cell culture and viral vector production.
- Apply DOE and QbD approaches for process characterization and optimization.
- Develop and scale bioreactor processes including fed-batch and perfusion systems.
- Support technology transfer and GMP manufacturing activities.
- Maintain detailed experimental records, prepare SOPs, and write technical and regulatory reports.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, analytical, and pilot-scale teams.
- Track emerging technologies and integrate innovative tools into process improvement initiatives.
- Author CMC documentation for regulatory submissions.
Skills Required for the Scientist Job:
- Hands-on experience with mammalian expression systems, bioreactors, and cell culture.
- Proficient in Design of Experiments (DoE) and statistical analysis.
- Strong understanding of upstream process development and viral vector production.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of viral purification processes and LVV process development (preferred).
- Innovative thinker with a continuous improvement mindset.
