Job Description:
The Associate 1, QC Microbiology will perform routine testing and support activities in the microbiology laboratory. The role involves sample collection, data entry into laboratory systems, environmental monitoring, and assistance with quality investigations.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct microbiological testing including bioburden, endotoxin, and growth promotion

Collect and test clean utility samples such as water, steam, and gases
-
Perform environmental monitoring in controlled manufacturing areas
-
Enter and review test data using LIMS and other quality systems
-
Maintain compliance with cGMP and data integrity standards
-
Support the resolution of deviations and participate in technical projects
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or Biology with no experience, or
-
Associate degree with 2 years of microbiology experience, or
-
High school diploma with 4 years of experience

Familiarity with data systems such as LIMS or TrackWise is preferred

1 to 2 years of experience in a cGMP laboratory is desirable
Skills and Competencies:

Understanding of aseptic techniques and microbiological methods

Strong written and verbal communication

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Basic technical writing and structured problem-solving ability

Flexibility to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in cleanroom environments and cold storage areas (2–8°C)

Standing or sitting for prolonged periods

Lifting materials up to 33 pounds

Willingness to wear appropriate protective equipment
