Job Description:
The Technical Services & Manufacturing Science (TSMS) Associate โ Pilot Scale will provide operational and technical support for commercial and pilot laboratory operations at Elancoโs monoclonal antibody (mAb) manufacturing facility in Elwood, KS. This role involves working across manufacturing, development, and quality teams to support tech transfer, process scale-up, optimization, troubleshooting, validation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support execution and troubleshooting of upstream and downstream biologics manufacturing processes (e.g., mammalian cell culture, purification).
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Development, and Quality teams on studies, validations, investigations, and tech transfers.
- Provide on-floor support during manufacturing campaigns, including troubleshooting and deviations.
- Apply statistical and scientific tools (e.g., JMP, Excel) to improve processes and monitor results.
- Author and review technical documents, including SOPs, risk assessments, batch records, protocols, and reports.
- Assist in implementing process changes and updates through change control systems.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelorโs degree in Bio/Pharmaceutical Technology, Microbiology, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 0โ2 years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of cGMP standards and biopharmaceutical production processes.
- Ability to support manufacturing activities on the production floor, with flexibility for off-shift or weekend work if needed.
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masterโs degree in Bio/Pharmaceutical Technology, Microbiology, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of industry experience.
- Experience in monoclonal antibody/recombinant protein manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with tech transfer, scale-up, and validation.
- Familiarity with electronic quality systems (e.g., Veeva QMS, TrackWise) and MES platforms.
- Experience in capital project execution.
