How You’ll Contribute
We’re searching for an ECM (extracellular matrix) expert excited to advance engineered lung development. In this role, you will focus on lung scaffold biology, cell–matrix interactions, and optimizing conditions for successful cellular repopulation.
Key Responsibilities of Scientist Jobs

Characterize matrix component stability and identify degradation profiles.

Recommend process/storage changes to improve matrix stability.
-
Analyze recellularization outcomes and ECM scaffold roles in regeneration.
-
Optimize scaffold ECM stability from decellularization through pulmonary assessments.
-
Determine optimal chemical conditions for ECM stability and cell–matrix interactions.
-
Analyze matrix composition, turnover, and cell-derived matrix deposition.
-
Assess scaffold mechanical function at organ and tissue levels.
-
Ensure consistency across in vitro and large-scale recellularization studies.
-
Develop new techniques, lab procedures, and protocols as needed.
-
Independently perform complex scientific tasks and data analyses.
-
Evaluate new technologies and support tech transfer with collaborators.
-
Create impactful experimental plans and hypotheses.
-
Prepare and present research strategy and progress reports.
-
Maintain scientific knowledge across focused research areas.
-
Support lab operations, maintain supplies/equipment, and document methods.
-
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
-
PhD with 2+ years of experience.
-
5+ years of experience developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting analytical assays.
-
Proficiency in at least four analytical tools:
Histology, immunohistochemistry, image analysis, SEM/TEM, biochemistry, ELISA, Western Blot, proteomics/glycomics, and mechanical testing. -
Experience with statistical tools (JMP, GraphPad Prism, R, etc.).

Strong DOE (Design of Experiments) and advanced statistical analysis skills.

Familiarity with biocompatibility evaluations and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications for Scientist Jobs
-
PhD in protein/cell biology, biomaterials, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, biomechanics, or related field.

Experience with uniaxial mechanical testing, MatLab, and/or Python.
-
Background in comparative proteomics and advanced analysis programs.
-
Regenerative medicine or tissue engineering experience involving cellular–matrix interactions.
-
Expertise in biomaterial mechanics, ECM chemical modifications, IHC/ELISA, accelerated degradation studies, protein characterization, or ECM-related Western Blot/ELISA.
-
Previous contributions to regulatory filings for clinical candidates.
