Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (Microbiology, Crop Science, Biology, Agricultural Business, Food Science) OR 6 years of comparable QA experience in a food manufacturing environment
- HACCP formal training required
- 1–2 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Working knowledge of GMP
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience with Word, Excel, Access
- English and/or Spanish communication skills (oral & written)
Key Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Supervisor:
- In this QA Role, you have to manage multiple QA Technicians
- Mentor and train QA employees (GMP, CCP, Food Safety, Safety Training)
- Conduct root cause analysis for complaints/issues
- Perform risk-based problem solving
- Review QA documentation
- Oversee Environmental Monitoring Program
- Address on-floor concerns from QA Technicians
- Conduct ATP Pre-Op swabs, APC swabs, and trending reports
- Collaborate with Pest Control Management
- Monitor GMP and Food Safety Program expectations
- Enforce PPE and OSHA guidelines
- Conduct direct observations for quality and food safety checks
- Work with USDA inspectors
- Enforce, maintain, and improve the SQF system
- Assume duties of QA Manager in their absence
Skills Required for the Quality Assurance Supervisor Role:
