Educational Requirements for the Information Analyst Role:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related scientific discipline with 3–5 years of industry experience.
- Preferred: Master’s or PhD degree with specialization in computer science, biology, bioinformatics, or protein engineering.
Eligibility Requirements for the Information Analyst Role:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Key Responsibilities of the Information Analyst Role:
- Conduct comprehensive patent, scientific, and IP-related searches to support R&D and patent attorneys.
- Develop and implement search strategies for prior art, patentability, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses.
- Perform patent monitoring and maintain database access for Derwent, Patbase, STN, Patsnap, Genome Quest, or IP Rally.
- Present insights and deliverables that aid strategic business decisions.
- Serve as an internal expert for biochemical and biosequence search and analysis.
- Collaborate with Global Patent Information Services, R&D, and competitive intelligence teams.
- Evaluate and improve information systems to enhance data analysis and delivery.
Skills Required for the Information Analyst Role:
- Proficiency with at least two patent databases (Derwent, Patbase, STN, Patsnap, Genome Quest, IP Rally).
- Strong understanding of information technology, search tools, and bioinformatics.
- Knowledge of AI/ML-based search platforms and analytics.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and flexible approach.
