Description
The CNIO Bioinformatics Unit (BU) within the Structural Biology Program is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and talented student to conduct a PhD study within the field of Bioinformatics and single-cell genomics and transcriptomics. Key research areas include:
- Single cell and spatial data analysis of cancer cells and tumoral microenvironment.
- Genomics-based studies of resistance to targeted therapies.
- Linking genomic features with tumor behavior, treatment response and clinical outcomes.
Selection Criteria
- B.Sc. in Biotechnology
- M.Sc. related to biomedical sciences
- Practical experience in bioinformatics, single-cell data technologies, and data analysis. Experience in trajectory analysis is a plus.
- Practical experience in spatial transcriptomics
- Experience with NGS data analysis and high-throughput cancer genomics data.
- Familiarity with widely used genomic databases and software. Knowledge in computational cancer genomics is a plus.
- Familiarity with GNU/Linux cluster environments.
- Experience using scripting and programming languages such as Python, R, and Bash.
- Ability to perform collaborative research in a highly multi-disciplinary environment.
- Proactive with strong initiative and creativity.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English required.
