About the Role: Join us to co-develop Dairy Health ingredients and food concepts in a team of passionate scientists. The team will be involved in strategic projects and research initiatives focusing on dairy-based health ingredients and market data.
Dairy Health business unit exists to:
- grow and defend our dairy-based health ingredients market by building and communicating health science of fermentation, probiotics and enzymes in fermented dairy/dairy-alternative;
- unlock new human health and nutritional benefits with focus on Host-Microbe interactions; and
- expand health offerings into shelf stable dairy and dairy alternatives
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
Driving Dairy Health science research (Dairy matrix-Gut microbe-Host interactions)
- Design and deliver project-specific cell-based assays and other host interaction studies as part of invitro translational preclinical research.
- Oversee and plan the ongoing and new in-vivo studies respectively.
- Play crucial role in short- and long-term strategic initiatives with academic partners and key dairy customers.
- Remain updated on human health science and trends to steer strategic fit to Dairy Health projects.
- Supporting the team for administrative tasks such as lab maintenance and project documentation.
Supporting commercial execution
Build health data on existing probiotic dairy products.
Closely align with the needs of ‘Marketing and Business Development’ and ‘Applied R&D Dairy’ team of yoghurts, fermented milk and other dairy products.
Potentially relevant experience:
- MSc with 3+ years of experience (or) preferred for Scientist.
- PhD with focus on Cell Biology or Human Physiology preferably related to Metabolic disorders (Obesity, Diabetes, Cardiovascular disease) or Mental health (Neurophysiology, Gut:Brain signalling)
Professional skills:
- Running invitro experiments with established and new cell lines.
- Prior experience of designing mice/invivo studies for dose response or mechanism of action with CROs or Universities as Scientist.
- Organoids and Gut-on-a-chip experience would be added advantage.
Personal/behavioral skills:
- Collaborative, flexible, willing to learn new things, pragmatic, organized and self-driven. Overall, an approachable personality as Scientist.
Language requirements and proficiency level:
- English (Working proficiency) with good presentation skills.
