Position: Senior Scientist – RNA Biology
Location: Thousand Oaks, California, US
What you will do
In this role, you will be part of the RNA Molecular Glue group within Amgen’s Induced Proximity Platform organization. You will contribute to the development of new therapeutic modalities targeting RNA and RNA-binding proteins, expanding the understanding of RNA biology and advancing drug discovery efforts at Amgen.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead technology development initiatives
- Design, perform, and analyze experiments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary researchers
- Present findings to department leadership and scientific community
What we expect of you
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled professional with a strong background in biophysics, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, or related disciplines. Key qualifications include:
Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree [and relevant post-doc where applicable]
Or
Master’s degree and 3 years of biophysics, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, or related experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of biophysics, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, or related experience
And
Advanced and proficient understanding and use of technical principles, theories, and concepts to perform an expansive range of work in a role
And
Basic knowledge of related and adjacent disciplinary areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in RNA biology with a track record of impactful publications
- Extensive research experience in biophysics, biochemistry, or related fields
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Salary Range: $125,888.00 – $145,318.00 USD
