NewLimit Raises $435M to Advance Anti-Aging Therapies

NewLimit Raises $435 Million to Take on Aging and Bring Rejuvenation Therapies Closer to Reality

NewLimit is an Anti-aging startup company which is back with a fresh fundraise of about $435 million after landing on its first clinic-ready candidate even before it was expected.

The dream of slowing down aging has taken a major step forward.

NewLimit is focused on developing treatments that could help aging cells act young again, and has raised an impressive fund in a Series C funding round. The Series C was led by Founders Fund, which was later supported by well-known investors like Kleiner Perkins, Eli Lilly Ventures, and many more.

The investment is one of the largest biotech financing rounds of the year and has pushed the company’s valuation above $3 billion.

Founded in 2021 by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong along with scientists Blake Byers and Jacob Kimmel, NewLimit was created with a bold goal: finding ways to reverse age-related changes in cells and restore healthier function to the body.

Instead of simply treating diseases that come with age, the company is working on a different approach. Its scientists are studying epigenetic reprogramming, a process that aims to reset aging cells so they behave more like younger, healthier versions of themselves. Researchers believe this approach could eventually help address many diseases linked to aging.

Over the past few years, NewLimit has combined artificial intelligence, large-scale biology experiments, and genetic engineering to identify factors that may help restore youthful cell function. The company says it has already discovered several promising gene combinations that showed positive results in laboratory studies.

The company’s lead program focuses on liver cells and is targeting fatty liver disease (Phase 1) and alcohol-related liver disease (Phase 2). NewLimit is developing an mRNA-based therapy designed to rejuvenate aging liver cells without changing their identity. The goal is to improve how these cells function as people grow older.

With the new funding, the company plans to speed up research, expand its scientific team, and move its therapies closer to human testing. According to company leaders, NewLimit hopes to begin clinical trials of its lead liver program in 2027.

The announcement comes at a time when interest in longevity research is growing rapidly. Investors and scientists are increasingly exploring ways to extend healthy years of life rather than simply treating age-related diseases after they appear.

While many challenges remain before anti-aging therapies reach patients, the latest funding round shows strong confidence in NewLimit’s vision. If successful, the company’s work could open a new chapter in medicine – one focused not just on fighting disease, but on helping the body stay healthier for longer.

For now, NewLimit has secured the resources it needs to continue pursuing one of biotechnology’s most ambitious goals: helping aging cells feel young again.
