The Computational Biology Intern will work closely with scientists across the translational genomics team to develop computational and sequencing based methods to explore therapeutic targets for splicing based disorders. The project will have multiple potential directions that can be tailored to an intern’s particular skills and interests including single cell sequencing and analysis, pipeline development and machine learning. Candidates should feel welcome to share their specific interests.

Required Skills:
- Experience working with sequencing data with a preference for single cell
- Programming experience, preferably in R or Python
- Prior research (or course work) in genetics, genomics, or computational biology
Desired Skills:
- Scripting or pipeline development experience on Linux or Mac systems
- Experience working with large datasets for analytics or machine learning
- Experience in the lab performing library preparation or sequencing experiments
Qualifications/Eligibility:
- Student pursing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, genetic, computer science, or other scientific discipline.
- Preference for PhD students researching similar projects.
- Student must be returning to school in the Fall Term OR has graduated within the 1 year of the start of the program.
- Must be available to work 40 hours a week
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
