Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research using genomics and molecular approaches to improve pathogen recovery and specificity
- Decrease time to detection using culture techniques
- Use metagenomic methods to identify culture biases and microbial dynamics
- Design and evaluate metagenomic pipelines and customization based on research findings
- Develop new metagenomic techniques for culture-independent methods
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Applicants must have a degree in biological sciences, agriculture, or related disciplines, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a major in the mentioned fields.
Minimum Qualifications:
Specialized experience in analyzing genomic data and conducting experimental research projects using metagenomic and bioinformatic techniques is required. Applicants must have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-13 level.
