Role Overview
Lead critical data analysis, manage vital datasets, and shape the bioinformatics infrastructure at our institute. Work with a diverse team to drive innovative solutions in crop health and plant science.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead assembly, annotation, and pan-genomic analysis of wheat and filamentous pathogens
- Perform genome and transcriptome analysis focusing on pathogen-wheat interactions
- Develop and enhance bioinformatics infrastructure
- Provide training and mentorship to junior bioinformaticians
- Support the Head of Bioinformatics in strategic planning
Qualifications and Experience
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, or related field
- Expertise in genome assembly, annotation, and transcriptome analysis
- Proficiency in R, Python, and Bash
- Strong publication record in genomics
- Leadership experience and grant writing skills

Additional Information
3-year appointment with flexible working arrangements. Salary range £37890 – £41438 per annum.
