Key Duties and Responsibilities for Associate Scientist II Role:

Execute daily hands-on laboratory tasks including:
-
Planning and designing experiments for Associate Scientist
-
Recording and analyzing experimental data
-
Maintaining laboratory notebooks
-

Work in a Biosafety Level II lab with biological samples and nucleic acid extractions
-
Present data to departmental, project, and cross-site teams
-
Write protocols and reports for feasibility, verification, and validation of molecular tests under quality system requirements

Collaborate with cross-functional teams:

Quality Affairs
-
Regulatory Affairs
-
Clinical Affairs
-
Design Transfer
-
Manufacturing
-
Quality Control
-

Train and support junior team members as Associate Scientist

Assist in intellectual property development

Troubleshoot technical challenges
-
Ensure compliance with Design Control regulations and company quality policies

Contribute to general lab organization

Education, Experience, and Qualifications
-
Associate’s Degree in a scientific field + 5 years’ lab experience preferred for Associate Scientist
OR -
Bachelor’s Degree in biological/chemical sciences + 2 years’ experience (preferred)
OR -
Master’s Degree in related fields with no experience (preferred)
Required Expertise:
-
2+ years’ experience with molecular/biochemical lab procedures

Knowledge of PCR, specimen handling, and data analysis
-
Working knowledge of ISO 13485:2016 and FDA regulations (preferred)
-
Prior experience in the medical device industry (preferred)
Skills:

Excellent oral and written communication

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Strong organizational and time-management skills
-
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills for Associate Scientist

Understanding of FDA Quality System Design Control

Aptitude in mathematics, statistics, and technical writing
