Educational Requirements for the Microbiologist Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a science-related field with microbiology coursework
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform defined microbiological quality control procedures in the Microbiology Jobs at L’Oréal
- Conduct testing and evaluation of raw materials, bulk products, packaging components, finished goods, and special samples
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, L’Oréal documentation, cGMP, cGDP, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate and timely records of test results and issue reports
- Perform and manage air, water, and environmental monitoring
- In this Microbiologist Role, you should identify microorganisms from environmental, water, and product samples
- Conduct or manage media growth promotion testing with internal or external laboratories
- Participate in and lead investigations related to non-conformances, EM excursions, and OOS results
- Trend microbiological and environmental monitoring data for reporting
- Prepare, calibrate, and validate laboratory reagents and equipment
- Maintain isolated records and laboratory documentation
- Support laboratory inventory management and daily operational needs
- Develop, review, and update laboratory procedures as required in the Microbiology Jobs at L’Oréal
- Participate in quality initiatives and cross-functional projects
- Communicate potential quality risks to senior management
Skills Required:
- Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience, preferably in microbiology
- Strong knowledge of cGMP, ISO standards, and FDA guidance for non-sterile manufacturing
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques
- Experience performing contamination investigations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
- Experience with SAP is an advantage
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of microbiological laboratory tools and equipment
- Ability to wear PPE and comply with safety requirements
- Physical ability to lift and transport materials within the facility
- Willingness to learn, grow, and stay current with evolving regulations
