About the Role
Nestlé Purina is seeking an experienced Factory Hygienist to join the Quality team at its Wisbech manufacturing site. This role is responsible for ensuring factory hygiene standards are fully compliant with Nestlé requirements, supporting food safety, hygiene, and quality systems across the site.

The Wisbech factory produces some of the UK’s most loved pet food brands, including Felix, Winalot, Gourmet, and Purina ONE. Located in a historic market town, the site continues to evolve with ongoing investment and plays a key role in Nestlé’s global LEAN Enterprise transformation.
Key Responsibilities in Microbiology Jobs
- Maintain and continuously improve the site Food Safety Management System
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, HACCP, GMP, pest control, and food safety standards
- Develop, review, and monitor comprehensive factory cleaning plans
- Assess cleaning effectiveness and hygiene standards across factory teams
- Prepare and deliver food safety and hygiene training
- Support internal and external food safety audits, including gap analysis
- Manage pest control activities and external service providers
- Support investigations of food safety incidents and preventative actions
- Contribute to hygienic design improvement initiatives
- Support foreign body prevention programs
- Participate in TPM Pillar activities as part of Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE)
What Will Make You Successful
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or apprenticeship in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related field
- Proven experience in food manufacturing within Food Safety or Quality roles
- Strong knowledge of hygiene and cleaning standards
- Experience working with audits, risk assessments, and root cause analysis
Desirable Skills:
- Experience managing contractors or external service providers
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
