Educational Requirements for the QA Manager Role:
- BS in Food Science or related discipline
- HACCP & Food Hygiene Certification (mandatory)
- Proven experience in a similar Quality Assurance leadership role within food production or catering
- Strong understanding of Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Sustainability principles
Key Responsibilities of the QA Manager:
- Lead, develop, and motivate UK-based Quality Auditors across all DO & CO UK units
- Implement and continuously improve Food Safety & HACCP systems in line with Codex Alimentarius
- Ensure compliance with HALAL requirements and manage annual certifications
- Plan and conduct Supplier Audits, ensuring all raw materials meet DO & CO specifications
- Manage scheduled audits including Hygiene, Glass & Foreign Body, GMP, and HACCP audits
- Liaise with EHO, FSA, and external certification bodies to maintain regulatory compliance
- Drive achievement of FSSC 22000 certification and third-party audit success
- Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints, ensuring corrective actions
- Maintain controlled documentation, specifications, and recipe approvals
- Analyze supplier data using statistical interpretation to support approvals
- Deliver accurate, timely quality reports to Executive Team and Head Office
- Collaborate with Executive Chefs, Operations Managers, and Production teams to ensure food safety
- Act as a strategic quality leader, exceeding targets while nurturing DO & CO culture
Skills Required for the QA Manager Role:
- Strong leadership and people-management capability
- Expert knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000, HALAL, and Food Safety legislation
- Excellent analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
- High attention to detail with strong documentation control expertise
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive change
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Confident problem-solver with a hands-on, proactive mindset
