The Internship Program

The Novo Nordisk internship program provides interns with ten weeks of full-time, hands-on experience within a global pharmaceutical organization. Interns work closely with experienced professionals and contribute meaningful project work aligned with business needs.

Scope of the Clinical Operations Position

The intern will support day-to-day operational activities across multiple clinical trials within the Global Clinical Operations team. Under close supervision, the intern will collaborate with the Clinical Project Lead (CPL) and gain exposure to responsibilities typically performed by Global Trial Managers (GTMs) and Clinical Trial Administrators (CTAs).

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting coordination of trial-related documentation and tracking activities
  • Assisting with maintenance of trial management systems
  • Preparing meeting materials
  • Supporting investigator and vendor communications
  • Monitoring study progress through review of operational metrics
  • Assisting with follow-up actions as directed by the CPL
  • Supporting regulatory and ethics submissions
  • Managing essential trial documents
  • Contributing to preparation of internal status reports

This internship provides exposure to global clinical trial execution, cross-functional collaboration, and foundational project management and clinical operations skills within a structured and mentored environment.

Qualifications For Research Internship in USA

  • Must be a current student enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree
  • In-progress undergraduate degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Research, or a related discipline preferred
  • Strong academic record with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong organizational, project management, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and multitask
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and across functional teams
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to learn
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Additional Information

  • Novo Nordisk is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now or in the future would require employment visa sponsorship.
  • Base compensation range: $52,000 – $89,000 (hourly basis)
  • Due to the temporary nature of the program, the position is not eligible for company benefit plans or paid time off, unless required by applicable law.
