Biochemist Position Overview
The QC Biochemist I will play a hands-on role supporting quality testing for production and R&D. This role ensures timely and accurate testing of materials and products while maintaining compliance with SOPs and cGMP requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze samples to support:
- Instrument qualification
- Method verification and validation
- Process validation
- In-process testing
- R&D and stability testing
- Finished product testing
- Follow company SOPs and cGMP in all tasks
- Process and analyze bioanalytical and analytical data
- Prepare solvents, buffers, and reagents as required for testing
- Write and review SOPs for equipment, methods, and lab procedures
- Review bioanalytical/analytical data and test results against specifications
- Troubleshoot instrument issues and liaise with supervisors or manufacturers
- Perform instrument maintenance, calibration, and verification as required
Minimum Requirements for a Biochemist Job
- Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, or related scientific discipline, or equivalent experience/training
- Ability to manage timelines and goals efficiently
- Compliance-oriented in a GMP environment
- Collaborative mindset and ability to provide QC services to other departments
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle and move laboratory materials, reagents, and supplies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of laboratory experience
- 1+ years in a QC environment
- Experience with cGMP documentation in QC
- Familiarity with FDA and USP testing requirements
- Experience in stability testing programs
- Instrumentation experience: HPLC, UPLC
- ELISA experience
Compensation
- Salary Range: $64,000 – $80,000 per year
- Compensation based on education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs
