Position Summary
The Laboratory Intern provides introductory, hands-on exposure to the operations of a commercial laboratory. Working closely with laboratory chemists, the intern supports daily laboratory testing and routine tasks while learning industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain data integrity and follow good documentation practices (GDP)
- Compare laboratory data against specifications to determine compliance
- Ensure proper use, care, and return of calibration standards (e.g., reference standards, timers, thermometers, instrumentation)
- Perform testing accurately by following approved methods, standards, and internal SOPs
- Enter data into established reports, templates, or software systems
- Execute assignments under the guidance of a designated mentor
Candidate Qualifications for Biotechnology Internship
- Current or recent enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related discipline
- Must reside within 50 miles of Greenville, NC to be considered
