Educational Requirements for the Microbiologist Role:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: College coursework or a degree in Microbiology, Biology, or Food Science
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform analytical microbiological and quality system procedures in a Food Safety Laboratory as a Microbiologist.
- Demonstrate proficiency in LIMS (LabWare), including batch actions and result entry
- Operate complex laboratory equipment with minimal supervision
- Independently analyze results and resolve routine laboratory issues
- Assist in planning, method development, modification, validation, and evaluation of test methods
- Maintain ISO documentation and process control records in the Microbiology Jobs at Tyson Foods.
- Communicate test results and interpretations clearly in written and verbal formats
- Cross-train across laboratory functions and substitute for absent team members as required
- Comply with all quality system, safety, and laboratory standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills Required for the Microbiologist Role:
- Strong understanding of microbiological laboratory procedures
- Ability to evaluate data, set priorities, and exercise sound judgment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with LabWare LIMS or similar laboratory information systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to food safety and quality standards
