Educational Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Food Safety, Quality, Microbiology, or a related field
- Junior or senior status preferred
- Minimum 2.70 overall GPA and 3.0 GPA in major coursework
Key Responsibilities of the Food Safety Intern:
- Train new and existing team members in food safety and quality programs
- Conduct audits to verify compliance with safety and quality standards
- Identify, define, and solve food safety or quality issues
- Participate in third-party audits with strong performance results
- Lead assigned projects with minimal supervision
- Gain hands-on exposure to HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, SOPs, and product procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments and support team-based goals
- Prioritize and adjust tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Skills Required for the Food Safety Intern Role:
- Basic understanding of food safety requirements and HACCP
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of statistical quality tools
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and in team settings
- Detail-oriented, responsible, and self-motivated
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to travel
