Educational Requirements for the Quality Control Associate Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in a relevant scientific discipline, such as Biochemistry or a  related life science field
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant laboratory or quality control experience
  • Strong willingness and ability to learn GxP regulations (GMP, GLP, GCP, etc.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • In the Quality Control Associate Role, you have to perform in-process and release testing for raw materials, drug substances, and mRNA drug products in compliance with cGMP
  • Generate critical testing data supporting commercial products and clinical studies
  • Support method transfers, qualification, and implementation, including sequencing and qPCR in the Quality Control Jobs at Moderna Careers.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving laboratory operational systems
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the QC Bioassay function
  • Support audit preparation and regulatory compliance activities
  • Investigate technical issues, deviations, and assay performance concerns
  • Assist with equipment qualification, validation, and maintenance in this Quality Control Associate Role.
  • Write and revise SOPs, protocols, and technical reports following GDP
  • Provide on-the-job training (OJT) and mentor junior analysts
  • Ensure data integrity, training compliance, and adherence to SOPs
  • As a Quality Control Associate, you should contribute to a safe, inclusive, and collaborative laboratory environment

Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding or ability to learn cGMP and GxP regulations
  • Hands-on experience with bioassays, sequencing, qPCR, or related techniques
  • Excellent documentation and data integrity skills
  • Problem-solving and deviation investigation capabilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Openness to working with digital tools and Generative AI technologies in QC operations
  • Mentoring and communication skills
