Pharmacovigilance Job Overview
ICON plc is seeking a Pharmacovigilance Associate to join its team in Sofia, Bulgaria. In this role, the associate will support patient safety initiatives by monitoring, evaluating, and reporting adverse event information related to pharmaceutical products. The position requires strong attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, and collaboration across functional teams to ensure compliance and uphold safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, evaluate, and process adverse event reports to ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with regulatory guidelines and company policies
- Code adverse events using the appropriate standard dictionary (MedDRA)
- Conduct signal detection and risk assessment activities to identify potential safety concerns
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support safety-related inquiries and investigations
- Maintain current knowledge of pharmacovigilance regulations and industry best practices
- Assist in the preparation of safety reports and regulatory submissions
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
- Experience in pharmacovigilance or drug safety with a strong understanding of relevant regulations and industry standards
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in triage, processing, and quality review of adverse event reports
- Experience with pharmacovigilance databases (e.g., Argus Safety Database) and data management systems, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
- Demonstrated commitment to quality and regulatory compliance
