The Assistant Scientist, Product – Global Development & Innovation (GDI) role supports the innovation pipeline at The Coca-Cola Company’s North America Innovation Center. The position focuses on contributing to product development initiatives that translate innovative beverage concepts into market-ready products.
The role is designed for a technically curious individual who contributes to formulation, testing, and commercialization activities while gaining hands-on experience in product innovation.
The Assistant Scientist works under guidance to support regional and local projects, applying market insights and digital tools to ensure products meet consumer expectations, regulatory standards, and manufacturing requirements. This position emphasizes execution, continuous learning, and collaboration while contributing to impactful beverage launches.
Key Responsibilities
Prototype & Formulation Development
- Executes lab-scale formulations and recipes under supervision.
- Follows company protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure safe and consistent product development.
Product Testing & Optimization
- Conducts sensory evaluations, analytical testing, and shelf-life assessments.
- Collaborates with microbiology and stability teams to evaluate product quality and performance.
Scale-Up & Commercialization
- Assists in pilot-scale and commercial production trials.
- Supports process optimization and ensures compatibility with manufacturing processes and packaging systems.
Quality, Safety & Documentation
- Maintains laboratory equipment and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Documents experimental procedures, results, and development processes accurately.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science or a related field.

Compensation for Assistant Scientist Role
Pay Range: $80,900 – $98,900 annually.
Base pay may vary based on location, skills, and relevant experience. Eligible for benefits including medical, financial, and other company benefits, depending on position eligibility.
Annual Incentive Reference Value: 7.5% performance-based incentive target aligned with market benchmarks for the role.
