Educational Requirements

  • BS or MS in physiology, biology, pharmacology, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 2+ years of in vivo research experience

Key Responsibilities for In Vivo Biologist Role:

  • Develop and execute small animal models of inflammation and autoimmunity
  • Perform in vivo efficacy studies according to study protocols
  • Handle all in-life study activities including dosing and animal handling
  • Conduct blood collection, small animal surgery, and tissue collection
  • Perform in vitro assays on study tissue samples
  • Analyze, graph, and interpret experimental data
  • Perform ELISAs or similar assay platforms
  • Organize data and present findings during internal team meetings
  • Collaborate closely with immunology and cross-functional teams

Skills Required for In Vivo Biologist Role:

  • Experience in dose formulation and animal handling
  • Proficiency in dosing routes such as PO, IP, SC, ID, and IV
  • Skills in blood collection, animal surgery, and tissue processing
  • Experience using Excel and GraphPad Prism for data analysis
  • Strong record-keeping and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of molecular biology techniques such as RNA isolation and RT-PCR
  • Familiarity with imaging techniques (IHC/IF, IVIS, Phenocycler) is a plus
  • Experience with FACS analysis, FlowJo, or cell culture techniques preferred
  • Good communication and organizational skills for presenting results
