Labcorp is seeking an Oncology Research & Development Intern to join its San Diego team. This onsite internship provides hands-on exposure to the Oncology Research & Development Team.
Internship Program – 2026 Global Internship Program
This internship is part of Labcorp’s 2026 Global Internship Program. It is an 11-week paid internship designed for students to gain real-world experience while contributing to healthcare innovation.
About the Program
- Interns are immersed in hands-on work aligned with their academic background. The program includes:
- Enterprise-wide learning experiences introducing key business functions
- Leadership exposure, including interaction with senior leaders
- An in-person intern event (June 2–4, 2026)
- Senior leader speaker sessions on strategy, innovation, and career growth
- Ongoing opportunities for connection and development, including intern communication channels, LinkedIn Learning resources, and professional development sessions

- Dedicated mentoring for career guidance and support
Internship Responsibilities
- Learn about clinical testing and processing behind testing development
- Learn techniques, including Next Generation Sequencing and data analysis
- Serve as development lead for a new Oncology Next Generation Sequencing assay
- Maintain clear, thorough, and accurate experiment notes
- Apply critical thinking skills to experimental results
- Communicate findings at laboratory meetings
Minimum Qualifications
Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program, working toward a degree in biology or genetics
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 months or more of experience in a cell or molecular biology-based laboratory or direct research experience
- 3 months of knowledge or experience with Next Generation Sequencing technologies
Additional Internship Standards
- Interest in the clinical testing or molecular research fields
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn new things

Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (December 2026 through June 2028 graduation) enrolled in a relevant degree program; all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply
Compensation
Pay Range: $17–$20 per hour
All job offers are based on a candidate’s skills, prior experience, applicable degrees or certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
