As part of PPD® Clinical Research Services, the Clinical Trial Coordinator supports global clinical trials conducted in over 100 countries. This role provides foundational experience for individuals pursuing a career as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA) and contributes to the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and efficient clinical research programs.
Position Overview
The Clinical Trial Coordinator provides administrative and technical support to project teams and supports audit readiness by ensuring study files are reviewed according to organizational and departmental guidelines. The role supports trial execution from study start-up through close-out.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, oversee, and complete trial activities based on assigned task matrix (Central or Local role).
- Perform departmental, internal, country, and investigator file reviews and document findings in appropriate systems.
- Ensure tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards; proactively communicate risks.
- Maintain study documentation and systems, including:
- Study team lists
- Training requirement tracking
- System access management
- Project activity tracking
- Provide system support (e.g., Activate, eTMF).
- Perform administrative trial tasks including:
- Processing documents for (e)TMF
- Performing (e)TMF reviews
- Mass mailings and communications
- Providing reports and documentation to internal teams
- Support scheduling of internal and client meetings.
- Review and track local regulatory documents.
- Transmit documents to clients and centralized IRB/IEC.
- Analyze and reconcile study metrics and findings reports.
- Maintain vendor trackers.
- Assist with Investigator Site File (ISF), Pharmacy Binder preparation, and study supply distribution.
- Support translation requests and translation quality control as needed.
Education & Experience For Clinical Trial Job
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences.
- 0–1 year of relevant experience or equivalent exposure.
- Valid UK driving license required.
