Internship Overview
The R&D Internship in Sensory Evaluation and Product Development supports the Mars Petcare Research & Development team and provides hands-on exposure to industrial research in sensory science. The intern assists with maintaining the internal sensory panel and supports Central and Regional R&D teams on ongoing product development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute sensory tests, including discrimination and descriptive human sensory panels
- Support the day-to-day operation of the internal sensory panel, including preparation, evaluation, report writing, and panel engagement
- Train and engage panelists through newsletters, attendance tracking, and performance monitoring
- Support the development of prototypes within defined R&D projects
- Assist in providing recommendations for product development initiatives
Candidate Profile
- Currently pursuing or holding an advanced degree in Food Science
- Ideally possesses initial practical experience, preferably in sensory technology, product development, product effect, or flavor analysis within the FMCG sector
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently in a structured manner
- Shows initiative, enthusiasm, and a problem-solving mindset
- Strong communication skills in English; German language skills are a plus
- Good proficiency in MS Office applications
