Educational Requirements:
- Formal qualification in Microbiology, Food Science, Food Safety Technology, or Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Relevant certifications in HACCP, food safety, or workplace safety are highly desirable
Key Responsibilities for Food Safety & HSE Coordinator Role:
- Conduct internal and external food safety, HACCP, and supplier audits
- Maintain compliance with State and Federal food safety regulations
- Investigate customer complaints, food safety incidents, and non-conformances
- Coordinate microbiological testing programs and analyze results
- Promote a strong safety-first culture across the facility
- Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace health, safety, and environmental risks
- Prepare compliance and HSE reports for leadership teams
- Train staff on hygiene, food handling, HACCP, and safety procedures
Skills Required for Food Safety & HSE Coordinator Role:
- Strong knowledge of food safety systems, HACCP, and compliance standards
- Understanding of HSE legislation and workers’ compensation frameworks
- Experience in audits, documentation, and reporting
- Excellent communication and training skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and record management systems
