Educational Requirements:
- BS in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other technical degrees
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in food or confectionery industry preferred
Key Responsibilities of Food Technologist Role:
- Execute medium-complexity process and product optimization projects
- Develop and validate experimental formulations and process designs
- Lead projects through documentation and handoff to project leaders
- Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Marketing, and QRC teams
- Support supply chain continuity and new supplier approvals
- Benchmark trends and technologies to drive cost, quality, and sustainability improvements
Skills Required for Food Technologist Role:
- Strong knowledge of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, and confectionery technologies
- Experience in chocolate and snack formulation and manufacturing
- Technical expertise in product development, lab, and pilot-scale operations
- Proficiency in sensory and analytical techniques
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of lean/six sigma principles is a plus
