About the Role
Mars is seeking a Quality & Food Safety Technologist to support and strengthen quality systems at the GRV manufacturing site. This role ensures all products meet the highest standards for food safety, quality, and compliance with internal and external requirements (including FSSC 22000 V6 and Mars Global Q&FS Standards).
You will manage and improve site Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), support compliance with Food Safety Standards (FSSC 22000 V6, GMP, GHP, HACCP), conduct training and audits, and drive continuous improvement. The role is highly cross-functional, partnering with Operations, Engineering, Logistics, and Global Q&FS teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related technical field
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment (Quality, Food Safety, Engineering, or Product/Process Development)
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene
- Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing (Quality, Food Safety, Engineering, or Product/Process Development)
Key Responsibilities in Food Science Jobs
Quality & Food Safety Operations
- Manage and improve GMP programs
- Support Operations in addressing consumer complaints and incident-related quality issues
- Lead workstreams to resolve product release concerns
- Analyze quality metrics and consumer complaint data to drive improvements
Food Safety & Compliance
- Participate as a member of the Food Safety Management/HACCP Team
- Serve as Glass and Hard Plastics Site Lead
- Own site responsibilities for Hold & Release and traceability activities
- Act as PRIMP (Product Risk Incident Management Process) incident owner
- Lead consumer complaint investigations
- Own and maintain designated Q&FS standards, conduct gap analyses, and develop compliance roadmaps
Audits & Governance
- Conduct and manage GMP inspections and internal audits
- Support site data reporting activities
Projects & Change Management
- Represent Q&FS in new product and process implementation projects
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure food safety and quality from concept through execution
