Educational Requirements for the Food Safety Technician Role:
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science or a related discipline (highly desirable)
- Training or knowledge in food safety systems such as HACCP or BRC is preferred
Key Responsibilities of the Food Safety Technician Role:
- Drive continuous improvement in food safety, product quality, and manufacturing processes
- Ensure compliance with One Harvest’s food safety management system
- Conduct online verification and validation activities
- Investigate customer complaints, foreign object findings, and non-conformances
- Assist with internal and external audits to achieve zero major or critical non-conformances
- Conduct internal audits of factory processes
- Coordinate site testing and report out-of-spec results with corrective actions
- Perform product and process assessments and recommend quality solutions
- Maintain strong working relationships with site stakeholders
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and quality standards
Skills Required for the Food Safety Technician Role:
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and food safety regulations
- Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG environments (advantageous)
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a factory environment
- High integrity, accountability, and problem-solving ability
