Educational Requirements for the Internal Auditor Role:
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Bio-science, or a related discipline
- Registration as a Lead Food Safety Auditor or Management System Lead Assessor (RTO or TPEC)
- HACCP training aligned to Codex Alimentarius principles (minimum 2 days)
- Completion of CFMSR training, including shadow and witness audits
Key Responsibilities:
- As an Internal Auditor, you should conduct audits of Own Brand suppliers against Coles Food and Non-Food Manufacturing Supplier Requirements
- Perform targeted audits related to responsible sourcing, complaints, product incidents, recalls, and withdrawals
- Manage non-conformance close-outs within agreed timeframes using Fusion
- Prepare clear, accurate, and timely audit reports in the Food Science Jobs at Coles Group.
- Coach and mentor suppliers and Coles Product Technologists to improve quality performance in the Food Science Jobs in Australia.
- Identify recurring non-conformances and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- As an Internal Auditor, you should contribute to supplier scorecards, quality training programs, and performance strategies
- Participate in witness audits, shadow audits, and ongoing professional development
Skills Required for the Internal Auditor Role:
- Strong expertise in food safety, quality assurance, and supplier auditing
- Proven experience in food or related manufacturing industries
- Excellent stakeholder communication and influencing skills
- Ability to work independently in supplier environments
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Technical competence across multiple product categories
- Proficiency in audit, reporting, and compliance systems
- Willingness to travel regularly with a valid driver’s licence
