Laboratory Intern Position Overview
The Laboratory Intern supports laboratory operations by preparing and testing samples of materials used in production, components, and finished goods. The role involves conducting physical and/or rheological tests to ensure conformity to established specifications. The individual typically reports to the Quality and Food Safety Supervisor and contributes to the system administration of FSQ.
Key Responsibilities
The Laboratory Intern is responsible for:
- Conducting routine laboratory tests.
- Documenting and managing quality and laboratory processes and related information.
- Sampling and testing raw materials, packaging, and finished products.
- Assisting in preparations for internal and external audits and ensuring timely closure of findings.
- Resolving customer complaints.
- Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment.
- Upholding strict health and safety standards and ensuring good housekeeping practices.
- Implementing HACCP requirements.
- Conducting microbiological sampling and interpreting results.
Qualifications for Laboratory Intern Role
- A three-year qualification or equivalent in Food Technology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Knowledge of quality and food safety practices.
- Understanding of GLP (Good Laboratory Practices).
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 standards.
