Educational Requirements for the Laboratory Technician Role:
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline (highly desirable)
- Laboratory or testing experience supporting food manufacturing operations (highly desirable)
Key Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician:
- Conduct chemical and bacteriological testing on in-line samples, finished products, and raw materials
- Communicate test results clearly and promptly to internal and external stakeholders
- Deliver reliable testing services in line with approved laboratory methods and SOPs
- Maintain laboratory equipment calibration schedules and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Perform environmental monitoring and routine laboratory sampling for the Food Science Jobs in Australia.
- Monitor laboratory performance metrics, including traceability, calibration accuracy, and service delivery
- Manage laboratory consumables and housekeeping standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and additional laboratory duties as required
Skills Required for the Laboratory Technician Role:
- Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Working knowledge of HACCP and OH&S (desirable)
