Position Overview
Legend Biotech is seeking an Immuno-Oncology Intern to join the Research & Early Development team in Piscataway, NJ. The intern will evaluate the functional and cytotoxic potential of CAR-T cells and other immune cells using various laboratory assays, with particular emphasis on cellular assays and cytokine analysis. The role also involves investigating correlations between the polyfunctional index and serial cytotoxicity across multiple donors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform transfection for virus production and conduct ELISA- or flow cytometry-based virus titration
- Conduct PBMC transduction and functional evaluation
- Carry out multiple assays, including cytokine analysis
- Perform tumor-killing assays using Incucyte or flow cytometry
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, present results to the manager, and share findings in group meetings
- Work under the supervision of the manager and senior team members
- Independently perform routine experimental work, basic data analysis, and documentation according to established protocols
- Propose technical approaches or troubleshooting ideas, with all experimental plans, data interpretation, and project decisions subject to manager or mentor review and approval
- Operate within management oversight for decisions related to project scope, timelines, resources, and strategic direction
Requirements
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, or a related field
- Laboratory experience with proficiency in basic techniques such as pipetting, microscopy, and cell culture
- Familiarity or conceptual understanding of transfection/transduction, flow cytometry, ELISA, and related immunoassays
- Understanding of biological concepts relevant to genetics, immunology, cell biology, and molecular biology
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, along with analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail in laboratory work and data recording
- Knowledge of data analysis tools such as Excel, GraphPad Prism, R, or Python
- Preferred language proficiency: English and Mandarin
