Educational Requirements for Biomanufacturing Associate Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, cell and molecular biology, biomedical sciences, biomedical engineering, biomanufacturing, regenerative medicine, or a related field
- 0+ years relevant experience
- Knowledge of cGMP and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Experience with cell manufacturing equipment: biosafety cabinets, incubators, bioreactors, pipettes, centrifuges, etc.
Preferred
- 1+ years aseptic technique/cleanroom experience
- Understanding of in-process checks (viability, sterility, endotoxin, bioburden)
- Experience in cell culture or tissue engineering
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate bioprocess equipment under cGMP and OSHA regulations
- Prepare lung scaffolds, media, reagents, and cell suspensions
- Load scaffolds into bioreactor chambers and assemble tubing circuits
- Monitor flow, pressure, timing, and biological indicators
- Record all data in batch records and logbooks following GDP
- Perform in-process sampling and end-of-process testing
- Conduct routine analyses of recellularization data
- Troubleshoot equipment and process deviations
- Draft deviation reports and present updates in team meetings
Skills Required for Biomanufacturing Associate Role:
- Strong understanding of GMP and cleanroom operations
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation
- Familiarity with bioreactors, cell culture systems, and lab equipment
- Capacity to adapt to fast-paced, startup-like manufacturing environments
