Educational Requirements for this Job:
- B.S. in Microbiology, Biology, Life Sciences, or related field
- Minimum 1 year of practical laboratory experience (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
- Working knowledge of microbiology lab techniques and Good Laboratory Practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products for approval and release for this Microbiology Job in the USA
- Conduct and document environmental monitoring of facilities and water systems
- Maintain environmental monitoring trend data to identify patterns and drive continuous improvements
- Support facility in resolving nonconformance issues and identifying corrective and preventative actions
- Complete laboratory-related investigations and document findings
- Perform LAL testing, water analysis, growth promotion, Gram staining, microorganism identification, and other microbiological tests in this Microbiology Job at Piramal Careers
- Maintain GMP/GLP documentation relevant to assigned duties
- Maintain laboratory instrumentation and ensure cleanliness per SOP guidelines
- Track assigned testing activities to completion
- Assist in reviewing test data and reporting deviations
- Assist in writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Participate in Quality Control and Microbiology projects
- Train team members in microbiology and chemistry labs in this Microbiology Job
- Handle and dispose of biohazard materials in compliance with OSHA and SOPs
- Perform other related duties as required
Skills Required:
- Practical experience with microbiology techniques such as Gram staining, isolation plating, media preparation, and microorganism identification
- Experience using autoclaves, air samplers, light microscopes, biohazard cabinets, and water purification systems
- Hands-on experience with pH meters, balances, water baths, and standard microbiology lab equipment
- Understanding of laboratory safety, biohazard, and chemical waste disposal practices
- Strong documentation skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of cGMP requirements and pharmaceutical industry standards
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
