About the Role
The Intern, Quality Control will gain hands-on experience in a Research & Development (R&D) and Technical Services laboratory. The intern will support quality assurance and food safety activities at the Saskatoon plant, participate in diagnosing potential quality issues, and contribute to routine quality processes across the facility.
How You Will Make Contributions That Matter
- Support the Quality Control team with food safety tasks, documentation, corrective and preventive actions, data entry, data analysis, audits, inspections, sampling, and presentations
- Assist with product and ingredient testing, including microbiological, chemical, and organoleptic testing
- Participate in online checks, environmental swabbing, shelf-life studies, trials, and other assigned project tasks
- Identify improvement opportunities related to safety, quality, food safety, cost, and production, and support implementation where possible
- Support ad-hoc requests and special projects
You Are Best Suited for the Role If You
- Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Science Laboratory Technology, or a related food science or engineering discipline
- Have previous internship experience (an asset)
- Have experience working in a laboratory environment (testing, data analysis, food safety inspection, or auditing)
- Have previous experience in the food or dairy industry, including milk and dairy chemistry (an asset)
- Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills
- Have strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
