Microbiology Internship Overview
The Microbiology Intern will gain hands-on experience in pharmaceutical quality control laboratories while supporting microbiologists in routine laboratory activities and quality assurance processes. The role provides exposure to pharmaceutical research and manufacturing environments while enabling interns to develop practical laboratory and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental monitoring reads and support data entry and review
- Perform WFI (Water for Injection) and purified water sampling
- Prepare microbiological media and perform quality control checks on purchased media
- Autoclave laboratory supplies required for testing
- Support records retention processes and documentation
- Assist with general laboratory maintenance across Centre, Research, and Windsor laboratories
- Support microbiologists with laboratory testing activities
- Perform sub-culturing of quality control organisms
- Assist with projects related to development activities, sterility testing laboratories, notebook studies, contamination control, and training initiatives
