Educational Requirements for the Lab Analyst Role:
- Minimum Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Microbiology, Food Technology, Chemical-related studies, or related fields
- 1–2 years of applicable professional working experience in a microbiology laboratory
Key Responsibilities:
- In the Microbiology Job at Hershey Careers, you should perform ingredient, in-process, flushing, and finished product microbiological testing
- Conduct environmental microbiological monitoring programs and support unplanned events
- Prepare Certificate of Analysis for customers
- Monitor the monthly stock of consumables, media, and kits in the Micro Lab as a Lab Analyst
- Prepare standards and controls; record and evaluate data; calculate and enter results into LabWare LIMS
- Prepare tables and graphs of data and ensure compliance with ISO 17025 standards
- Maintain housekeeping, GLP, and laboratory safety procedures
- Perform validation and maintenance of lab equipment such as the autoclave, incubator, refrigerator, and BSC in the Microbiology Job
- Prepare reports related to microbiological lab testing, sterilization, and environmental monitoring
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of microbiological testing techniques and environmental monitoring
- Familiarity with LabWare LIMS
